Pastor Angel holds a B.A. in Pastoral Ministry from Rio Grande Bible College and an M.A. in Theological Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. After completing seminary, he married his wife, Raquel, and together they followed God’s call to serve in Spain, where he pastored Iglesia Cristiana Evangelica de Tomelloso from 1999 to 2014.
In 2014, the Lord led their family to Newport, where Pastor Angel began serving as the Hispanic Pastor at Newport First Baptist Church. He now serves as the Executive Pastor, continuing his passion for teaching God’s Word and shepherding His people. His heart is to see lives transformed by the gospel and believers growing in their faith and love for Christ.
He and Raquel have two sons, Angel Gabriel and Miguel Angel.
One of his favorite Bible verses—and the first he memorized—is 1 Timothy 4:12:
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
